Founded in 2007, Groupe R.Y. Beaudoin (GRYB) began its humble beginning through necessity, with the idea to change an industry. Long lead times and limited product options were common within the marketplace. GRYB founders Remi Beaudoin and Yvon Beaudoin believed that providing products with higher quality at better prices was the way of the future. From this simple notion, they set out to revolutionize the market and position GRYB as a leader in material handling equipment.

GRYB moves into its new 10,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Victoriaville.

To achieve this vision, Remi understood, it would take a team of highly skilled, like-minded individuals. With this knowledge, Remi set out to bring on key leadership individuals that would be instrumental in the growth and success of GRYB. The first of which, was Jacquot Caron. Jacquot brought years of experience and know-how in production management and team building to GRYB and has successfully led the production team ever since.

The second to join the team was Luc D’Amours. Luc, an experienced engineer, was tasked with the development and management of the engineering team and quickly become an integral part of the ownership group and Director of Operations.

With the team and vision secured, GRYB constructed a new 23,000 sq. ft. facility to call home.

Wanting to expand on its product offerings, GRYB acquired Magnet Quebec. This acquisition brought in new experience and market potential to the growing company. Shortly after the acquisition, Jason McNeil joined the GRYB leadership team to drive the growth of the new magnet division. Jason brought a combined wealth of engineering and sales experience and was a key element to the company’s expansion in the new market.

To meet the market demand and fuel the growth of the company, GRYB completed its first expansion to the facility, increasing the total area to 69,000 sq. ft.

As crucial members of the leadership team and has played such an important role in the company’s growth, GRYB welcomed Jacquot and Jason as members of the ownership group.

As the vision continued to grow and evolve, the shareholders, knew the importance of maintaining the GRYB identity while continuing to expand the global reach and the product offerings. This led to the creation of Gryb International. This new organization would allow for further expansion and acquisitions without overshadowing the original business.

Gryb International quickly seized the opportunity to expand again. This time, with the acquisition of Bateman Manufacturing, a company based in Oro-Medonte, renowned for its Orange Peel grapple and specialized material handling attachments. This not only added to the overall product line, but it also brought decades of experience and expertise with more than 50 new employees to the organization.

As the business continued to grow for the organization, it became clear that it needed more space. A second expansion in 2019, would bring the GRYB’s total area to 95,000 sq. ft. This latest expansion also meant; more employees would be needed. From the early days of 2 employees, GRYB International had expanded past 200 employees throughout the organization.

While 2020 was a year of challenges globally, it was a year of discovery and growth for Gryb International. In continuing with the trend of expansion, Gryb International made a large step forward in the US market, by acquiring the magnet giant, Winkle Industries. Winkle Industries, located in Alliance, Ohio, has long been synonymous with quality and reliability in the magnetic and lifting device industry. Situated within an 80,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility, with an additional 50,000 sq. ft. warehouse, Winkle Industries perfectly complemented the already expanding Gryb International. With decades of knowledge and industry-leading designs, the more than 85 new employees in the organization were a welcomed addition.

2020 also presented an opportunity to allow Gryb International to exercise the entrepreneurial spirit, with the creation of Shearex. This 2020 startup, comprised of 10 individuals, with vast experience in the forestry industries, once again expanded the product offering and opened doors to new markets for the Gryb International organization. Shearex, located in Roxton Falls, QC, designs and manufactures mulchers and tree shears to serve the forestry, land clearing and disaster cleanup efforts.

When the opportunity to have Two Harbors Machine Shop (Serco Loaders) join the Gryb International team, there was no looking back. The acquisition of Serco Loaders continues to further the quest to become the world leader in material handling equipment. Serco Loaders, nestled in the small community of Two Harbors, Minnesota, has long been one of the industry leaders for knuckle-boom loaders in the United States and Canada. With more the 94,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space and 85 passionate employees, adding Serco loaders has helped to drive Gryb International to new heights.

One year after the creation of Shearex, Gryb International was excited to break ground on phase one, a new 25,000 sq. ft. facility in Roxton Falls and the future home of Shearex.

Now with 8 manufacturing locations, 950+ employees and represented in more than 20 countries around the world, Gryb International is poised for success and the realization of a vision, 14 years in the making.
